REVIEW: Great Scott - Peach & Habanero

Love this!

I’d never heard of this company before and thought they were up the other end of the world in Scotland, but apparently they’re based in Falmouth, which is where I work.

This is a small producer that seems to develop recipes around the flavours of the chilli varieties they use - Peach Habanero, Chipotle, Scotch Bonnet, Naga, etc. - which is attractive to begin with.

The peach is the first flavour you’ll notice - creamy and sweet. I know there are those other flavours in there - garlic, onion, vinegar - but honestly this is all peach and chillies for me. Worth taking a good first mouthful to really get that peach.

God, this is good!

The heat builds a little and is of the tingly kind with heavy warmth rather than the painful or uncomfortable kind. If you keep going with it (as I suspect you will) it does become a good deal more intense, and it lingers. But I love this. And it’s really moreish. I had moved on to do some typesetting and as soon as the heat had died down I found myself heading back to the fridge.

100% recommend this. I wonder what else they've done...
